About department

The University Sport Centre is one of the departments of the Faculty of Sports Studies. It provides instruction in general physical education for all full-time students at Masaryk University, with the exception of regular students of the Faculty of Sports Studies. The aim of the Centre is to promote a healthy lifestyle and proper exercise habits of university students and at the same time provide them with support in learning new skills and furthering their development in various sports. Current Masaryk University students are required to obtain two credits of physical education during their Bachelor's degree study. The range of courses of the University Sport Centre covers this. It is designed so that everyone can find a course that will suit them. Students can choose from more than 80 kinds of sports activities according to their interests and abilities – the range of courses includes, for example, downhill skiing in winter or hiking in summer. Students can earn their credits by participating in a regular semester class in many sport areas
