Successful sportsman from FSpS at the University of Taipei

Successful sportsman from FSpS at the University of Taipei

On August 30, the XXIX World Summer Universiade in Taipei ended. Altogether 7,700 athletes from 134 countries participated. 139 Czech students came to represent in 15 out of 22 sports. The Czech representation won 3 medals and ended up in the elite eight eighteen times. The Czech Republic has ranked 39th among a total of 66 rated states, which representatives have won at least one medal. The absolute winner was Japan, its athletes won incredible 101 medals.

Masaryk University was represented by 14 athletes, 10 of them were from the Faculty of Sports Studies

The biggest sporting achievements of FSpS athletes were in the following disciplines: judo, baseball, and athletics - weightlifting, hammer throwing.

  • Baseball - 4th place - Arnošt Dubový
  • Judo - 5th place - Ivan Petr
  • Volleyball - 7th place - Jan Pražák, Daniel Říman
  • Hammer - 8th place - Tereza Králová
  • Weightlifting - 8th place - Tereza Kralova
