Kinematics

In the biomechanics of physical exercise kinematics mostly describes the motion of human body in space, not the forces that cause that motion. If, however, we are able to describe correctly the motion of human body during physical exercise, it opens ways to understand the causes of that motion, too. In sport and physical exercise we need to describe motor skills for the purposes of teaching, training and skills evaluation. Moreover, the results in many sport events actually have the form of kinematic measures.

Kinematics is the branch of dynamics that describes the motion of bodies16.

16 In the Czech Republic mechanics is mostly divided into statics, kinematics, and dynamics. Kinematics is thus not considered part of dynamics. This division is completely different from the division of mechanics that is in use in the USA, for example.Zpět
