HR Award

We are a proud holder of the HR Award!

As of Tuesday, July 6, 2021, the MU Faculty of Sports Studies has been the holder of the HR Excellence in Research (HR Award), which is awarded by the European Commission to research institutions implementing the HRS4R personnel strategy (Personnel Strategy for Researchers: https://www.euraxess.cz/cs/node/5765).

The Implementation Phase is now taking place for the faculty according to the approved Action Plan (lasting 2 years). An internal evaluation must be sent by 06.07.2023 to re-assess the award (detailed information: https://www.fsps.muni.cz/veda-a-vyzkum/hrs4r-hr-award).

Therefore, from 06.07.2021, it is possible to state in the grant applications that FSpS is the holder of the HR Award.

In June 2023, the faculty submitted a self-evaluation (Internal Review) of the implementation of the personnel strategy after the first two years and a revised action plan for the period 2023-2026, which the European Commission accepted without comments and granted FSpS MU the status "HRS4R Embedded".

Gender Equality

The Gender Equality Plan (GEP) is part of the HR Award action strategy of the Faculty of Sports Studies MU for the period 2021–2023 and responds to the needs of the faculty and Masaryk University as a whole. GEP results from a series of expert consultations, statistical data processing and evaluation, and a questionnaire survey conducted from March to June 2021. The plan is based on six key areas. Its main goal is to ensure that the Faculty of Sports Studies MU is a faculty that creates safe and equal conditions, promotes diversity without discrimination, and ensures the freedom of academic and non-academic development of its employees. The Gender Equality Plan of Masaryk University follows the faculty's GEP; it reflects the faculty's plans.

The development of the GEP also responds to the requirements of the new Horizon Europe program in the field of gender equality. Public higher education institutions and research organizations need to have gender equality plans in place and consider the gender dimension in the very content of research and innovation. Gender equality plans will be one of the eligibility criteria for project applicants to Horizon Europe, starting with the calls closing in 2022.

For further information, please see: Horizon Europe Guidance on Gender Equality Plans (GEPs).

Also, for other national subsidy programs (TA ČR, GA ČR, OP VVV, etc.), the requirement of a gender plan will probably be defined in the future.
