We hosted an international conference of the armed forces
The 3rd Conference of the Security and Armed Forces of the Czech Republic took place at our faculty on the 11th and 12th April.
1st round of the University Weight-lifting League
On Saturday 23rd November 2019, the 1st round of the University Weightlifting League took place in Brno. Altogether there were seven teams participating from Czech and Slovak universities and colleges. Masaryk University was represented by 16 students thus creating four teams that competed for the top positions. Two teams, called A and B, were from the Faculty of Sports Studies. Two other teams were formed by students from other faculties (Pedagogical Faculty, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Informatics and Faculty of Social Studies). They were called MUNI “A” and MUNI “B”. Also participating in the 1st round were Palacký University Olomouc, Comenius University Bratislava and Faculty of Healthcare Banská Bystrica.

For the first time in the history of the University Weightlifting League, the winner of the 1st round was the team Sports Faculty “A” beating UP Olomouc in second place and UK Bratislava in third. The Sports Faculty “B” team was fourth, MUNI “A” fifth and MUNI “B” was seventh. Jiří Gasior from Sports Faculty “A” became the best competitor who lifted 140 kg snatch and 187 kg clean and jerk, which is a new Czech record in the weight category of up to 109 kg. Elizaveta Zelentsová from Sports Faculty “A” was the best in the women´s category. She lifted 83 kg snatch and 94 kg clean and jerk.
The 2nd round of the University Weightlifting League will take place in the spring term of 2020 in Bratislava.
