BIP ‘Physical Activity and Health-enhancing Behaviours’, an international study course, will be opened for the spring semester 2025
It will include a one-week teaching block at the university in Portugal.
Last month, members of our faculty attended the 10th International Scientific Conference on Kinesiology in Opatija, Croatia. This conference, one of the most important in Europe related to sport and health, gathered researchers from across the continent to share and discuss the latest research in kinesiology, sport science, and related fields. Our faculty is proud to be a partner institution of this prestigious event, which brought together keynote speakers who are experts in sport and exercise science.
The conference provided a valuable opportunity to learn about innovative research being conducted across Europe. Researchers presented a wide variety of topics related to sport, exercise, and health through oral presentations and posters. Our faculty contributed significantly to the event, with presentations on key research areas including female athletes, kinesio taping, machine learning, and injury prevalence. Sharing this research allowed our team to engage with the broader scientific community, receive constructive feedback, and foster collaborations.
Participating in conferences like this is highly encouraged for all researchers, especially PhD students. Presenting research, whether through an oral or poster format, is not only a way to disseminate findings but also an essential step in professional development. It helps build communication and presentation skills, particularly when addressing an international audience in English, which is the language of most conferences. These presentations serve as a platform for young researchers to challenge themselves and grow academically.
Our PhD student, Adam Wagner, stood out at the conference and was awarded second place in the 5th Miloš Mraković Young Researchers Award for his poster presentation on female athlete topic. This award, established to honor the efforts of young investigators in kinesiology and related scientific fields, recognizes high-quality research by early-career scientists. Adam’s achievement is a reflection of the dedication and high standards of our faculty, and we are incredibly proud of his success. The Miloš Mraković Young Researcher Award candidates present their research either as oral presentations or posters, with winners selected by a committee.
We encourage our faculty members and students to actively participate in such conferences, as they provide unique learning opportunities and help showcase the high-quality research conducted within our institution.
It will include a one-week teaching block at the university in Portugal.
The Self-Defense Team from the Faculty of Sports Studies successfully participated in the 13th International Scientific Conference IMACSSS in Malaysia, where they gained valuable contacts and experiences. Following the strong interest in the ASEBS program, they will lead a workshop on self-defense didactics at the next conference.
