Mandatory COVID-19 testing also applies to MU employees

Following the measures imposed by the Czech Ministry of Health, physical presence at the workplace without a valid negative SARS-CoV-2 test result will be prohibited from Wednesday 17 March 2021. The test result must not be older than 7 days and all employees are required to submit to testing, except for the following persons:
a) employees working from home
b) people who have recovered from Covid-19 in the previous 90 days
c) people who have received full vaccination (two doses), where at least 14 days have passed since receiving the 2nd dose

The government strictly limits free movement between country districts, students are not allowed to leave Brno in next three weeks

Due to the worsening epidemic situation in the country, the Government of Czech Republic announced new restrictions that will be in place for three weeks. Starting Monday 1 March, people are not allowed to walk or jog outside the town/city where they live during the day, for students in Brno this means the Brno city limits.

Respirators will be mandatory from Thursday 25 February

As of Thursday 25 February, respirators or two surgical masks must be worn in shops, health care facilities, on public transport (and at stops), international airports, and service establishments such as post offices, banks, etc.

Government has banned the entry of foreigners into the Czech Republic, it does not apply to students and workers

As of Saturday, 30 January, new measures are in force in the Czech Republic. The Government of the Czech Republic prohibits the stay of foreigners in the Czech Republic if they arrived in the Czech Republic for reasons other than commuting to work, work purposes, participation in education (including internships and examinations), visits to family and relatives, trips to medical and social services facilities etc.

Czech Republic moved to fifth risk level. The State of Emergency is extended until 22 January

On Tuesday 22 December, the Czech Parliament approved an extension of the State of Emergency until 22 January. The government has also decided to tighten the emergency measures taken in view of the transition to level 5 of the PES anti-epidemic system from Sunday 27 December.

On Monday the university traffic-light system will turn red

On Monday, 28 December 2020, Masaryk University will move from the yellow level to the stricter red level. Considering the fact that classes are not currently being held, this change will have only a minor impact on the university and its faculties and institutes. The MU Crisis Board and the Legal Office of the Rector's Office will continue to follow changes in government measures and will keep affected parties informed.
