On Wednesday, May 29, 2025, the 8th annual National Clinical Trials Day took place in the representative premises of the Kaiserštejn Palace in Prague. The event, organized by the Czech National Clinical Trials Network CZECRIN, traditionally focuses on the area of clinical trials evaluating the safety and efficacy of new drugs and treatment methods. The conference is held under the auspices of the Minister of Health, Prof. MUDr. Vlastimil Válek, CSc., MBA, EBIR and is intended for invited guests only. The main topic of this year's event was the strategy for further development of clinical trials in the Czech Republic, current challenges faced by research teams and healthcare facilities, and possible future directions. In line with previous years, the issues of availability of innovative treatment for patients, the role of regulatory authorities, and the possibilities of financing research in an international context were also addressed. Representatives of the Ministry of Health, the State Institute for Drug Control, academia, healthcare facilities, and industrial partners presented their presentations as part of the professional program. The national strategy for supporting clinical trials, the importance of study teams and the key role of coordinators who ensure the smooth running of studies in practice were discussed. CZECRIN, as a research infrastructure, has long strived to cultivate an environment for clinical research in the Czech Republic. Through educational activities, methodological support and cooperation with hospitals, it strengthens the capacity for conducting studies and thus contributes to increasing the availability of modern treatment for Czech patients. The 8th National Day of Clinical Trials was not only a place for sharing experiences and good practice, but above all an impetus for the further development of high-quality and accessible clinical research in the Czech Republic.
