In 10th -12th November, Faculty of Sports Studies hosted an international seminar on Psychomotricity and its Role in the Education Process. 20 instructors and academic workers, who use psychomotor activities in their both pedagogical and research practice, from the Masaryk University Brno, the University of Hradec Králové, the Palacký University Olomouc, the  Charles University Prague and the J.E.Purkyně University Ústí nad Labem participated in the seminar. Students of the Faculty of Sports Studies and the Faculty of Education (MU Brno) were also given the unique opportunity of participating in practical workshops provided by renowned psychomotricity practitioners: Rui Martins (PT), Hedi Rulin and Miriam Deonna (CH).

The seminar focused on mutual exchange of experience and pieces of knowledge from the area of psychomotor activities and thus forming a complex overview of using psychomotricity (as a specific means of physical education) in the Czech Republic. Due to this overview, Czech Republic may be presented in the field of the European Forum of Psychomotricity (EFP) which is represented by Ms.Daniela Jonášová (Faculty of Education, MU Brno).

The Psychomotricity Seminar took place concurrently with the international scientific conference Sport and Quality of Life, held by the Faculty of Sports Studies of the Masaryk University (10th – 11th November 2011) and seminar participants could thus take part in a special psychomotricity sessions of this conference called Use of Psychomotricity in the Education Process in the Czech Republic and in Europe.
