Description The aim of the study was to Compaq the isometric strength of the dominant and no-dominant upper limb of the population of the Czech Republic. The measurement was attended by 1425 probands, 668 men, 757 women. The examined subjects were 18 years old or older. The measured values (in kilograms) were obtained via hand-held dynamometry testing (a digital hand-held dynamometer). The results of the hand-held dynamometry testing were compared across six age categories (18 – 29, 30 – 39, 40 – 49, ---70 + years). The highest average values for men were found in the age group 30 - 39 years old - dominant 55,6 kg, non-dominant 52,5 kg. The lowest values were found in the category of 70 years and more - dominant 34,4 kg, non-dominant 30,6 kg. The largest decrease in isometric strength was found between age groups 60-69 years and 70 years or more – 8,8 kg and 9,9 kg. The highest average values in women were measured at ages 40 - 49 years old – dominant 33,9 kg, non-dominant 31,7 kg. The lowest values were in the category of 70 years and more - dominant 23,1 kg, non-dominant 20,9 kg. The largest decline in isometric strength was between categories 40-49 years and 50-59 years – 5,5 kg and 5,7 kg.
