Citation
Description Purpose of this article is to become familiar with the experience of teaching self-defence for people with a visual disability. Self defence courses took place at the Faculty of Sport Studies in the spring and autumn of 2014. Based on detailed surveys related to the experience of people with a visual disability with risky or violent behaviour against this specific group and their security concerns, a self defence methodology was created for them. The methodology is based on conflict theory and is mainly focused on the initial phases of conflict resolution (the pre-conflict and verbal communication). The article describes the main principles, rules, possibilities and experience in teaching self-defence for people with visual disability.
