Description Proper choice of physical activity during pregnancy brings numerous health benefits for mothers-to–be. The aim of this study is to examine knowledge of pregnant women that concerns physical activities and their suitability during pregnancy. The knowledge had been collected by the questionnaire method. The survey was attended by 93 pregnant women aged 24-44. Women were divided into two groups - the “active” ones who performed leisure physical activity prior to their pregnancy and “non-active” women who did not do any physical activity before they got pregnant. Although most women knew proper answers to questions, there were still 30% of respondents whose knowledge was insufficient or wrong, or they did not know the answer at all. Relevant education not only in prenatal clinics, but girls and women in general, shall be a convenient tool to deal with the situation. Especially young women seek information on the Internet which often provides information of questionable quality and sources.
