Description | The water extract of Armillaria mycelium contains the elicitors able to trigger defense reaction in tobacco cells. The eliciting activity of the more virulent strain compared with that of the other strains was the same. The main efficient components are ergosterol and chitin fragments. The effect of chitin fragment is markedly multiplied by ergosterol due to the activation of several signal pathways. |
