Description | Staff in helping professions is in almost uninterrupted contact with people who commit themselves with their problems and sufferings. Clients emotions should not be suppressed by helping staffers, they may try to recognize and understand these feelings. Continual facing the pain, suffering and often death can finally cause burn out syndrome of helping personnel. Persons with burn out syndrome usually refuse communication with patients and limit their workload only for the most necessary tasks. For a quality health care, communication and overall approach to the patient is important, not only professional knowledge and skills. |
