The government extended the State of Emergency until 12 December

On Thursday 19 November, the Czech Parliament approved an extension of the State of Emergency until 12 December, not until 20 December as the government requested. Without the Czech Parliament consent, the State of Emergency would end on Friday 20 November.

At the beginning of November, the Government of the Czech Republic launched the new COVID Portal, where foreign students and employees in the Czech Republic can find the most important information about coronavirus and how it affects daily life.

National Library provides access to digitized titles

Students and researchers will once again be able to access all digitized titles from the National Library and the Moravian Library. This service has been relaunched in response to the closure of libraries due to the pandemic.

The government extended the State of Emergency and all restrictions until 20 November

On Friday 30 October, the Czech Parliament approved an extension of the State of Emergency until 20 November. The same day, the Government of the Czech Republic extended emergency measures that were set to expire on Tuesday 3 November until Friday 20 November.

Government tightens restrictions, 9 p.m. curfew goes into effect Wednesday

The Czech government has once again tightened restrictions to combat the spread of the coronavirus. Effective 28 October a curfew will be in place from 9 p.m until 5 a.m. There are exceptions for people travelling to work or seeking urgent medical care.

Brno Immigration office (MOI) is currently open only for clients with an appointment

Due to the current epidemical situation, the Department for Asylum and Migration Policy (MOI) in Brno is opened only for clients with an appointment. This measure is effective from 22 October until further notice. Without a prior appointment, access to offices will not be allowed. Existing appointments remain valid.

Canteens still operate except for Academic restaurant on campus

MU canteens still operate for students and employees in compliance with governmental measures, however canteens are closed to the public. One exception is the Academic restaurant located in Campus Square that is closed from 23 October until 3 November.
