MU traffic-light system will remain at white light rating

On its meeting held on Monday, 23 August 2021, the MU Crisis Board decided that Masaryk University will remain at the WHITE LIGHT (lowest) rating of its traffic-light system. A review of the system’s readiness for a possible worsening of the situation is currently underway.

The Czech Republic will start recognising EMA-approved vaccinations administered in non-EU countries

According to the Czech Ministry of Health, from 23 August onward the Czech Republic will also accept Covid-19 vaccinations administered to people from outside the European Union, on the condition the vaccine they have received has been approved for emergency use by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) or the World Health Organization (WHO).

New Government guidance for accommodation in dormitories

Accommodation in Masaryk University (MU) dormitories will be affected by Covid-19 in the upcoming semester, too. New government orders have specified the measures students will have to comply with to use MU dormitories. Effective 31 August 2021, students will be asked to submit one of the following documents before checking in for accommodation:

Masaryk University employees and students are obliged to inform the university about their return from a foreign country if they intend to enter an MU building within 14 days of their arrival.

MU to move to white, employee and student testing no longer mandatory

From Monday, 28 June, onwards, restrictions will be significantly lifted at Masaryk University. On Thursday, 1 July, testing will no longer be mandatory.

As of Friday 11 June, the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic has officially opened registration for COVID-19 vaccinations for everyone, including foreigners or people without public insurance.

On Friday, 4 June, people aged 16 to 29 will be able to register for vaccinations. According to available information, self-payers should be eligible in mid-June. So, take advantage of the opportunity and make an appointment.

In light of improving COVID-19 trends and the gradual easing of government measures, Masaryk University will also lift restrictions.
