The department is professionally profiled in the field of specific topics related primarily to aspects of sports performance of top and performance athletes and sports teams (Load Management).
The core research profile of the Department focuses on the principles and fundamentals of sports training, developing exercise abilities and skills, managing the training process, sports performance diagnostics, exercise diagnostics, athlete nutrition and the management of sports associations and clubs. The Department also has expertise in para-sports and categorising exercise and movements in the respective sports disciplines. Teaching activities are primarily focused on the professional education of coaches, sports analysts, referees, nutritionists and sports managers.
