Citace
Popis Nutrition is an essential part of therapy, and dietitians play a key role in improving the health outcomes of patients and reducing the overall healthcare expenses.1,2 The nutrition care system in the Czech Republic has undergone significant development, beginning with the introduction of dietitians in 2004. Although some hospitals recognize the benefits of dietitians providing nutrition care with two organizations advocating for dietitians, their professionalization along with the scope of practice or mandatory full-time equivalents for hospitals is still unsatisfactory and dietitians report complaints of disrespect and futility of their work. The current situation is unclear, and as the first study of this kind in the Czech Republic, the objective of this study was to assess and describe perceptions of acute care dietitians regarding their job satisfaction and their place in the nutrition care system together with identifying barriers to providing nutrition care.
